Duties and responsibilities
Under supervision of and accountable to the Project Coordinator, the Officer is responsible, independently and/or with other staff members for data collection, compilation and reporting by applying the normal monitoring and evaluation methods. He/she is also responsible to develop periodic monitoring plans, monitoring formats and to provide feedback for project planning and status of progress for timely decision making.
This will focus on project activities, outputs/outcomes and whether on the track towards the project impact (ultimate changes). The officer is also expected to assess the environmental consequences of the project and the socio-economic situation of the local community. The candidate is expected to work in close collaboration and positive team spirit with the project staff and staff from signatory government offices, government development/extension workers at community/field level and community representatives. Moreover, she/he is expected to understand the working environment and give appropriate respect to the beneficiaries.
Demonstrated competencies in own subject matter/ area of specialization, effective report writing skill, superior language and composition skills in executing the assignments are ideally required for the job. Handling multiple assignments, meeting deadlines, and working in challenging environments are the required from a prospective candidate.
In view of the stated job requirements, the potential candidate for the post should have Bachelor or Masters Degree from recognized University/College in Agricultural Economics or Economics. Besides, S/he should have at least 6 years for Bachelor and 4 years for Masters holders and demonstrated work experience of which two years in the area of data management and coordinating monitoring activities.
Additional Requirements for the Positions:
- Competency in computer applications of MS Offices packages is required.
- Understanding and speaking local language is mandatory.
- Cooperative, team player, gender sensitive and excellent in interpersonal relationships.
- Have a strong commitment and openness to learn and share.
Duty Station: In Minjar-Shenkora Woreda, Arerti Township with extensive travel to and within project intervention kebeles in the woreda
