Job Description

The Meal Officer will work as part of Senior Ethiopia Catholic Church Social and Development Coordination office of Hawassa branch team, under direct supervision of ECC-SDCOHa Director. He will provide technical leadership on all project M&E related activities, including the development of the M&E System for data capturing, storage and analysis. The position holder is responsible Emergency Response and projects planning, information gathering and analysis, reflection and reporting and documentation. The position holder is expected to support sector coordinators for project proposal preparations, reports compilation and reports proper documentation. The incumbent will undertake the detail tasks outlined below:

Description of Functional Relationship of the role

  • Strengthening of MEL systems, including learning and accountability and generation of reliable data for results-based management to strengthen projects implementation;
  • Support secretor coordinators in developing new project proposals,
  • Develop monitoring performance measurement system with sector coordinators, such as quality benchmarks and indicator performance tracking methods
  • Liaise with other staff as well as with project area local government relevant authority and the target community for the projects monitoring and learning process
  • Work closely with Emergency projects managers in the area of projects monitoring, recording and reporting,

Key Duties/Tasks

  • Establish baseline information for different project in intervention areas.
  • Undertake and oversee regular fields monitoring and evaluation visits with field staff and in coordination with government partners to ensure technical and operational timely execution of projects vis-à-vis approved plans and targets;
  • Support sound ethical and methodological design and implementation approach for projects assessments;
  • Leads on quantitative data analysis and report writing for the unit’s assessment, KAP surveys and others surveys related to the behavior change strategy;
  • Support project management with the preparation of timely Donor Reports to ensure Compliance with key program indicators and objectives;
  • Organizes and conduct training activities in MEAL to ECC-SDCOHa project and program personnel and implementing partners as needed.
  • Prepares and manage external evaluations and conduct internal performance and impact evaluations and other accountability reports and required; including analysis of the findings and providing recommendations;
  • Support the projects implementing staff in measuring of project impacts
  • Support in developing improved information management systems within the office;
  • Undertakes other duties required by the immediate supervisor

Job Requirement

  • MA/MSC in Economics, Management, Rural Development, Development Studies, or any other fields with at least 4 years related work experience
  • BA/BSc in Economics, Management, Rural Development, Development Studies or related fields with at least 6 years related work experience
  • Age : 35-50
