About Us

FSS is a local independent not-for-profit organization engaged in conducting policy oriented research and public dialogues programs and public education program local media The major thematic areas that have been the focus of research and dialogue include poverty and poverty reduction, environment and climate change, access to livelihood resources and public services, and gender and development.

All of FSS’s activities are guided by its strong conviction that constructive and knowledge-based dialogue between policy makers on the one hand and civil society groups and the public, on the other, will promote improved state – society relations, enhance transparent and participatory decision-making, and contribute to more sustainable development interventions. To this end, the organization provides high quality and evidence-based research works to serve as useful inputs for consultation in policy making and policy review. The present research program on land and rural livelihoods is part of that endeavor.

Addressing gender equality and women’s empowerment is one of the key aspects of FSS’ approach to achieving its core vision. Currently, FSS in partnership with its partners is implementing projects that focus on women social and economic empowerment.
